Paying for College

Mississippi students are eligible for grants and subsidies if you qualify and you apply. All families should plan to complete the FASFA, which begins January 1 of each calendar year.

Graduation Requirements:

Canton Academy requires a total of 22 Carnegie Units for a student to graduate

ENGLISH 4 CARNEGIE UNITS English I, Ii, IiI, IV, AP

MATHEMATICS 4 CARNEGIE UNITS Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II + one unit

SCIENCE 4 CARNEGIE UNITS Biology I, Chemistry I + two comparable units

SOCIAL STUDIES 4 CARNEIGE UNITS World History, US History, Introduction to World Geography, MS Studies, Government and Economics

FINE ARTS 1 CARNEIGE UNIT Visual or performing art credit

FOREIGN LANGUAGE 2 CARNEIGE UNITS Two units (I and II) of a foreign language

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS 1 CARNEIGE UNIT

ADVANCED ELECTIVES CARNEIGE UNITS depend on credits Courses related to student’s interests

PRE-HIGH SCHOOL ELECTIVES Algebra I, first year foreign language, or Computer Applications
