Meet the Head Coach
Coach Jonathan Broome
Coaching Career: college and high school for 12 years
What made you decide to be a coach: I love the sport of baseball, and when you finish playing the next step in order to still be involved is to be a coach. I love the strategy and managing a game.
Greatest Coaching Achievement: Taking over the program here at Canton Academy, the baseball team had not won district in a while. We are currently back-to-back district champions going into this season.
Other Coaching Experience: I started coaching some of my younger brothers teams, then coached for a few high school summer teams. My first official coaching job was at Bevill State Community College in Fayette, Al as an assistant coach. My first head coaching job was at University Christian School where I spent five years before coming to Canton Academy.
What I like to do outside of coaching: I like to spend time with my family when I am not coaching, and getting as much rest as I can during the off season.
My family: I have been married to Hanna since 2010. We have one son, Aiden, who is one year old. We also have three dogs, two lab mix and one mini dachshund.
Sports experience: I played baseball at Clinton High School and Mississippi College.
Little known fact: Some people may know, but I know sign language because my mom is deaf.
