My name is Sarah Pulliam, president of the Canton Academy Parents Auxiliary. First, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome back to all of our returning families and a warm welcome to those joining us for the first time. As summer break comes to an end, I look forward to making this year at CA the best yet and to do so I need your help! CAPA plays a vital role in supporting our school, faculty, and most importantly, our students. We all know the saying “it takes a village to raise a child”, and to do so we hope you consider becoming a member of CAPA and volunteering your time to events or general activities or needs around the school throughout this school year.
Included with this email is a CAPA Membership Form, which you can fill out and bring with you to Meet the Teacher. You’ll also have the chance to sign up for different volunteer opportunities and find ways to get involved with CAPA’s efforts—whether it’s helping with events, teacher appreciation, fundraising, or simply offering your time when you can. We are currently working on a CAPA social media page to better communicate with members. I have listed below some of the upcoming events you will want to mark on your calendar. I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for our CA family!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
We’re also thrilled to invite you to our ElementaryMeet the Teacher come and go event and supply drop off on Wednesday, August 6, from 8 am until 11 am. This is a special opportunity for students and parents to connect with teachers, explore classrooms, and prepare for a successful start to the year. Junior High and High School will have a half day.
We’ll also meet that evening for a Prayer Walk as we come together to pray over our students, faculty, staff, and campus. This will take place starting at 6 pm(in between softball games)on August6th. Flyer is attached.
CAPA’s Annual Golf Cart Raffle will kick off Friday, August 8. We will be selling tickets at Canton Country Club 4 Ball on the 8th and 9th. If you would like to help sell tickets please reach out to me! Raffle tickets will come home with students the week of August 11th.
Lastly, let’s show our teachers some love starting out this school year by stocking the lounges! Please see attached flyer.
As a parent first and foremost, I understand how helpful and comforting it can be to have a community of parents who share the same goals for our school and students. Your involvement makes a big difference, and we’re grateful for each parent who chooses to partner with us.
