Newsletter: April 2024

Happy Easter! We hope you have enjoyed some quality time with your family and have taken some time to reflect on Jesus and what He did for all of us. Let’s remember to be grateful not only this time of year, but every day. At CA, we are blessed as administration and staff to be able to discuss Jesus’s ultimate sacrifice, and we do not take lightly that we will be held responsible one day for the way that we lead your children.

Our three, four and five year old kindergarten classes performed an Easter program before we dismissed for the Good Friday holiday, and they did a fantastic job. Thank you to the staff and students for putting on a great program, enjoyed by all in attendance.

Congratulations to all of our elementary students who have won awards at the MSAIS reading fair and art fair. We have so many talented students!

For the most part, we have had unusually mild weather for all of our spring sports, and there are still lots of games, meets and matches for you to be a part of. Don’t forget to volunteer for concession duty. Our volunteers play a big part in making CA the great school that it is. We are always complimented by other schools on the hospitality of our CA family when we host events, and you are to be thanked for that.

The Panther golf team has either finished in first or second place in the tournaments they have played in this year so far. We are proud of these young men. The annual Sterling Penn Invitational track meet will be held this Wednesday, April 3rd at Canton Academy. Our track team members have done a great job of achieving personal records, and you all know that CA’s track team has a great history of being state championship material. The Panther baseball team is off to a great start and is undefeated in district play. Our tennis teams have won several of the matches they have played in. Check our website for sports schedules and join us to cheer on the Panthers!

We are excited to announce that we are organizing a girls soccer team for grades 7-12. This will give several of our female students an opportunity to participate in a sport they love. If your child has any interest in participating, please contact Coach Jacob Iles at jiles@cantonacademy.org.

Our Panther chess team has made us very proud this year as a start-up program initiated by Mr. Tim Busch. We will host a chess tournament on campus on April 13 (need to check this date). Be sure to check out these strategic students as they compete!

In just a few weeks, our annual Drawdown and Spring Fling will be held on Saturday, April 20 at Butterfly Hill. Don’t forget to turn in your family’s two tickets for your chances to win the $10,000 grand prize. We hope that you will join us for great food, fellowship and entertainment. Invite your friends and meet other CA families and patrons. Additional tickets can be purchased in either school office.
